One of the world's most celebrated luxury resorts is now offering something it has never offered before: permanent ownership. Aman Residences, Amangiri marks a historic first — private homes embedded within the protected 900-acre landscape of southern Utah's Amangiri resort. This guide gives your agents everything they need to have informed, compelling conversations with high-net-worth clients about this extraordinary opportunity.
About Amangiri
Opened in 2009, Amangiri is consistently ranked one of the best resorts in the United States and among the finest in the world. The resort sits on a 600-acre parcel within the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area — land acquired through a Congressional land swap approved under President George W. Bush — at Canyon Point, Utah, near the borders of Arizona and Nevada.
The resort was designed by three visionary architects: Marwan Al-Sayed, Rick Joy, and Wendell Burnette. Its 34 modernist suites dissolve into the surrounding red-rock terrain, built around a 165-million-year-old boulder at the base of a mesa. In 2020, Amangiri expanded with Camp Sarika — 10 luxury tented pavilions offering a glamping outpost a mile from the main resort.
Celebrity guests have ranged from Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to Miley Cyrus, Gordon Ramsay, and countless Silicon Valley and Wall Street figures. Nightly rates for the resort start at approximately $4,200 per night.
Aman Residences, Amangiri
For almost two decades, private ownership at Amangiri was a concept rather than a reality. That changes now. Canyon Equity LLC — the owner-developer of the resort — has launched Aman Residences, Amangiri: a collection of 12 unique private homes set across the same protected 900 acres as the resort itself.
The residential development was always part of the original vision for Amangiri. "Residences have always been part of the vision for the resort," says CEO Robert Hee. "It's been a matter of evolving the concept to where we are satisfied."
Design Philosophy
Every residence is designed by Masastudio — the LA-based firm of Marwan Al-Sayed, one of Amangiri's original architects — ensuring visual and architectural continuity with the resort. The design language is one of bio-mimicry: pools that mirror natural watering holes, poured concrete walls that echo desert tones, low horizontal forms that vanish into the canyon floor.
Materials are deliberately limited to cement, stone, and wood. No two homes are identical. Each is individually sited using advanced 3D modeling to maximize desert views and privacy, designed to carbon-neutral standards.
Residences Overview
The collection consists of 12 homes total, each on expansive private acreage within the 900-acre protected desert compound. Homes range from four to eight bedrooms on plots spanning five to nineteen acres. Lot prices have been reported at $5M–$12.5M; completed residence pricing is by inquiry only and offered on an invitation-only basis.
Flagship: The Six-Bedroom Grand Villa
The first completed residence — the Six-Bedroom Grand Villa — is now on the market and represents a historic milestone: it is the first privately owned home ever offered for sale within the protected perimeter of Amangiri.

Developer & Listing Contact
Aman Residences, Amangiri is developed by Canyon Equity LLC — the operating arm of Canyon Group, a Larkspur, California-based private equity firm. Canyon Equity has owned and operated Amangiri since its inception, and also owns Four Seasons Resort Rancho Encantado (Santa Fe) and Jean-Michel Cousteau Resort (Fiji).
CEO Robert Hee has described the project as "generational" in nature — a long-horizon investment in place rather than a traditional return-driven development.
ONCE-IN-A-GENERATION OPPORTUNITY
For 15+ years, owning at Amangiri was simply not possible. Only 12 homes will ever be built here. This is a strictly finite collection.
PRIVACY AT AN UNPRECEDENTED SCALE
Five to nineteen private acres, within a 900-acre protected compound. No neighbors. No visual intrusion. Just canyon, sky, and stone.
ARCHITECTURE AS ART
Designed by the original architect of the resort. Carbon-neutral. Bio-mimetic. Each home is a one-of-a-kind object built into the landscape itself.
RESORT SERVICES AT YOUR DOOR
Owners receive full access to the Aman spa, dining, adventure programming, private aviation partnerships, concierge, and housekeeping — the full five-star hotel experience, permanently.
BRANDED RESIDENCE VALUE
Branded residences — privately owned homes affiliated with luxury hotel brands — represent approximately 40% of all US resort real estate. The Aman brand commands a premium globally and has a fiercely loyal ownership community across 30+ properties.
RENTAL INCOME POTENTIAL
The Grand Villa currently rents at $45,000 per night while listed for sale. This speaks directly to the caliber of demand and the property's earning potential when not in personal use.
